Biography
Cursed As Angels formed in early 2004. After meeting Ian on a night out Omen suggested to Ian that he try out for his then band Potvin as second guitarist. Omen remembered seeing Ian in his former outfit Absent, and remembered him being a bit handy on guitar. Ian was quick to agree to an audition, but the audition never happened. A short time after the two had spoken Potvin spilt up. It wasn’t until four months later that Omen and Ian would talk again. Omen suggested that they start a new band, it was agreed, and the search for other members would begin.

After a month of searching various music websites Omen found a drummer in the form of Andy Davidson, who Omen already knew from the local rock/metal scene in and around Dartford and Gravesend. A second guitarist was found in the form of Lee Gibbs. In March of 2004 rehearsals began. The first dozen rehearsals were very interesting, with the band trying to discover a common ground, and work out what sort of style and sound they were looking for, in the early days it was heading towards a stoner rock style, but Omen and Ian weren’t happy with this. As well as trying to discover themselves, the band were also trying to find a bass player, after a few months, Ian suggested his close friend Paul McIntosh. Paul was a guitarist with a background of writing film scores, he was very keen to join the band. Paul joined as bass player which didn't last long, only 2 months. Andy and Lee were to leave two months later, which left the three remaining members, wondering what the future of the band would be?

So the band was left as Omen, Ian and Paul now on guitar. The three of them struggled on and continued writing material using a drum machine, a sound and style was settled upon and a good six new songs had been written and completed. After a few months, Omen took on keyboard duties to add some texture, depth and atmosphere to the tunes, the three of them continued as a trio for the rest of 2004 and the start of 2005. It was at a Megadeth concert in February of 2005 where Omen and Russ would meet, Omen convinced Russ to have a try out for Cursed As Angels, even though he was already in a band. It only took one practice for Russ to decide that he had to join. Cursed As Angels would continue to be and gig as a four piece without a bassist for a year, until March of 2006 Paul Scott (former guitarist with Potvin) would join as bass player. In early 2007 Cursed As Angels parted company with Russ, he was replaced by Dan. We have plans to record an album sometime this year. To be continued…
